I have always been a huge fan of music. I love listening to it, singing to it, and learning the backstory of why a song was made. I have never been a really big musician though. I remember when I was younger, my brother had a saxophone and I tried it a couple of times, but I was terrible at it. So I gave that up along with trying to learn other instruments. Now I am really enjoying learning how to play the guitar and thought that I would come here and tell you about some of things I have learned by playing guitar for a couple of months.
My experience (so far)
The beginning is going to feel rough and might take some getting used to. Your fingers are going to hurt. After getting use to chords it became a lot easier. I download an app called “GuitarTabs” and it has a lot of songs you can choose to play. They also have a website you can check out. A lot of songs on the radio today even use the same four basic chords (G,C,Em,D). Then I moved to different types of styles and I am currently on fingerpicking (which is a lot of fun and sounds beautiful).
Benefits of play guitar
Learning how to play guitar is said to relieve stress and very therapeutic. Guitar is said to relax you and shift your focus on something else while putting you in a different and better mood. It also increases your creativity skills. It also increases your memory and concentration. (Go brain power!). It also improves hand coordination, listening skills, and can improve your sight reading.
Playing guitar has even boosted my confidence a lot more and has become a hobby for me now. I’m not planning on giving up so easily on it like I did with the saxophone. I have even tried out my friend’s drum kit a couple of times and I’m enjoying that. So with this I want you to know that even though you may not like trying new things out, this was a new thing to me. It was a lot easier getting there than I thought it would be and would love if you tried it out for yourself. Music can bring people together!
